RHEE
This is an actual film from my college days… The film CKY2K had a great influence on our impressionable minds. New Brunswick, NJ served as microcosm for new realities facing young adults in the wake of the dotCom bust and September 11th. As the country geared up for war in Iraq, frustration, tension, and anxiety was building… ready to explode at any given moment. The house we resided in at the time was decrepit and our relationship with our no-show slumlord mirrored the power structure that sought to oppress and bring the world’s people to their knees. We rebelled… shooting the first shot against that oppression to igniting a revolution. Our Landlord was named B.Rhee and this film is dedicated to him.

I opted to remove the full film from the internet because some of the revolutionaries may or may not hold prestigious professional positions.

So I produce the I’m From Driftwood ‘video...

So I produce the I’m From Driftwood ‘video stories’. I’ve shot and edited hundreds of these and am very happy that they’re making an impact. I recently returned from a 50-State Story Tour where I filmed and screened stories like the one above in every state. Along the way I also documented our adventures and the many people I met along the way. See the video below.

FYI:
This was my senior film, kinda the first thing i did that I’m proud enough of to put on display. I produced, wrote, directed and edited this film which screened at a few festivals. After screening this film for the first time, I learned that people weren’t getting it, so I re-edited. After about 5 versions I was finally happy with the feedback enough to send it out to festivals. I was nominated for best student film at one of the festival. Needless to say I didn’t win.
